Vietnam travel, tourism, and service sectors to receive 130 awards

Vietnam travel, tourism, as many as 130 companies, organisations, individuals and localities will be given the 7th annual Guide Awards at a ceremony to be held in southern Binh Thuan province on March 25.
The awards will be presented to the winners in recognition of their contributions and achievements to the country's development of tourism and services over the past year. Among the winners, the Victoria Hotels and Resort Group, with the four best resorts and hotels in the respective areas of Sapa, Can Tho, Chau Doc and Phan Thiet will receive the Pioneering Distant Destinations Prize. The Accor Group with four hotels in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh will be recognised with the Professional Service Prize and Khaisilk with the Restoration of Vietnamese Style Prize.
In addition, Caravelle Hotel, Sofitel Metropole Hanoi and Sunway Hotel Hanoi have won the award in seven consecutive years. The competition has received 65,000 votes, 60% of which were voted on the Internet.
This is an annual award by Vietnam Economics Times and The Guide, a favourite publication of foreign tourists to Vietnam, given to companies, organisations, individuals and localities in Vietnam who have made contributions to the development of tourism and service in Vietnam. Vietnam's cultural values will be highlighted under this year's Guide Awards. Rex and Huong Giang Hotels took the lead in finding and maintaining the traditional cultural values. The Best Promotion of Vietnamese Prize will also be handed over to XQ fine art and handicraft village in Da Lat for organizing the 2005 embroidery festival. (Source: ND)
