The Ministry of Planning and Investment has licenced a US$86mil resort project in central Da Nang City.

US$86mil resort project licensed in Da Nang

The project is invested by a joint venture between Vietnam's Hoang Dat Company and the US’ Silver Shores. Under the licence, the project will be implemented on North My An Beach, north to Furama resort, including a five-star hotel with 600 rooms, an international conference centre and 50 five-star villas.

An entertainment centre for foreigners will be also built, offering various entertainment services like electronic games, casino with black jack, baracat and so on. Boat services will also be available.

In the first half of 2006, six foreign-invested projects were licensed to invest in Da Nang, with a total registered capital of $124.146mil, comprising a $5mil resort project of Japan’s P&I Company, a $30mil project to build high quality residential area of the Republic of Korea’s Daewon Company, a $2mil garment factory by Taiwan’s Tai Jiuh Company, a $1mil project of Han River Tourism Joint Venture Company, the above $86mil resort project; and a $146,000 project of the Vietnamese – Japanese Marusun Joint Venture.

Besides, two projects were allowed to increase investment, including Sinara Company with $6mil and Indochina Riverside Tower Ltd., with US$20mil more.

The number of the licensed projects in the first half of this year is lower than the same period of 2005 (seven new projects and three projects increased investment), the total investment capital is US$150.146mil, doubling that of the corresponding period of last year (US$63.5mil).
