Vietnam New budget carrier announces Ho Chi Minh City -Sydney airfare
Qantas Airways’ budget carrier Jetstar has announced fares for its Ho Chi Minh City-Sydney service due to begin late November.
Single trips would cost US$268 plus charges and fees between January 16 and 31 and again between April 1 and 26 next year.
Jetstar planned to start flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney from November 30, its chief executive officer Alan Joyce said, adding passengers could transit there for 20 destinations across Australia.
The carrier would use A330-200 aircraft and have two categories, Economy and Star Class, he said.
Qantas started Jetstar two years ago to win back domestic market share lost to Virgin Blue Holdings Ltd., the nation's No 2 airline.
It is now expanding the airline to lure back international travelers from competitors Singapore Airlines and Emirates, which have cut Qantas's market share in Australia by 11 percent in the last decade.
