Hanoi travel agents unregistered

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in coordination with the Public Security Ministry and Hanoi Tourism Department, carried out an inspection of illegal tourism businesses in Hanoi.

Even though the inspection is still underway, authorities have identified “a lot of violations committed by local travel agents”.  

The most common violation is that travel agents do not registered tourism services provided to foreign tourists with appropriate government agencies. 

Several agents have launched websites containing general information on tourism in Vietnam, but when foreign customers contact them seeking tour information, the agent will “illegally organise tours” for said customers. 

Several agents were not registered to provide outbound tours, but in their catalogues or their advertisements they offer such services to customers.
