11/12/06 (GMT+7)

Local tour operators are gearing up for the festive season, designing tours for those who want to travel while enjoying Noel and welcoming the New Year.

Among these inbound tours that Saigontourist designs, the hilly city of Dalat is the most chosen destination for many travellers.

Departing from Ho Chi Minh City, the tour called 'Dalat-Christmas Eve' will take travellers to Pongour Waterfall, which is seen as one of the most scenic waterfalls in the region.

Coming to Dalat, travellers cannot miss visiting Thien Vuong Co Sat Pagoda, which is seen as one of the oldest, and where travellers can find treasured Buddha statues which were carved from aloe – a kind of rare wood.

Besides, the tour is designed with sightseeing of the Domain De Marie, Linh Quang Pagoda, Truc Lam Zen Monastery and Bao Dai King Palace. Travellers will have a chance to visit Thung lung tinh yeu (Valley of Love), or take a tandem bicycle to wander through small romantic streets around the city.

Alternatively, travellers can take part in an excursion tour by jeep to explore Lang Biang Mountain, where they can hear the immortal legend love story, and visit other valleys nearby.

The highlight of the tour is the program specially designed for travellers on Christmas Eve. From 8pm onwards in the cold climate of Dalat, travellers will join hands to sing together Christmas songs as well as to receive gifts from Santa Claus and from lovely little angles. Then the program will continue with dances and bustling music.

The tour is designed for four days and three nights by bus. It departs on December 22, 23 and 24. The package price for the tours is from VND1,072,000 to VND1,445,000 per person.

Besides, Saigontourist offers tours to other regions including the cites of Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Hue, Danang, Hanoi, the ancient town of Hoi An, Halong Bay and Sapa.

Also during the festive season, there are tours to Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand Cambodia and China, among others.
