Quang Nam:Craft village selected to develop tour packages

The central coastal province of Quang Nam has made a plan to take traditional craft villages for tourism development.
The provincial authority has made three criteria to select craft villages for tourism development: villages must have traditional crafts, market and beautiful landscape.
There are 61 craft villages in Quang Nam, 19 of whom have been recognised as traditional craft villages. Only Kim Bong Carpentry Village, Thanh Ha Ceramics Village, Tra Que Vegetable Village, Phuoc Kieu Bronze Casting Village, Dong Yen and Thi Lai Weaving Villages attach importance to developing tourism.
However, the quality of services to serve tourists in these villages is yet up to the mark and promotion work has not been well done.
Quang Nam cares much about developing tourism in craft villages and the province is seeking proper ways to introduce, keep and promote cultural identity of craft villages to attract tourists, said Tran Minh Ca, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee.
