Da Nang travel: first 4-star tourism complex recognised

16/01/07 (GMT+7)

After two years of operation, Sandy Beach in the central city of Da Nang was officially recognised by the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (VNAT) as meeting the standards of a four star tourism complex.

Travel to Danang, hotels, resorts in Da nang

This is the first ever recognised four star resort in Da Nang, while Furama is a five star resort.

Two years ago, the business at Non Nuoc hotel was very bad, but the situation has changed since Ben Thanh Tourist made investment there.

Covering an area of 10ha, Sandy Beach has 118 standardised rooms and high-grade services, which allow several hundreds clients to be served at the same time.

Mohanadas Kuranman, General Manager of Sandy Beach, said that Vietnam was a country with good security, diversified culture, hospitable people, which explained why more and more international tourists were coming to Vietnam. He said that Vietnam’s WTO membership will help the tourism industry develop and bring opportunities to travel companies, including Sandy Beach.

In 2006, Da Nang received 774,000 tourists, which brought the city VND435bil in turnover. The biggest problem of the city is the lack of high-grade accommodation. There are only one five star and one four star resorts only, while the others are all three-star hotels and guest houses, which do not attract the tourists who want to have long stays in the city with one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
