Foreign art troupes to perform at Hue Festival 2006

Hue festivals, so far, 12 art troupes from nine countries have registered to take part in Hue Festival 2006, scheduled from June 3-11, according to the organising board. During the festival, exhibitions on Hue royal architecture, the Central Highlands' gong culture and traditional arts of the Cham ethnic people will also be held.

In addition to three main events - Nam Giao Festival, Truyen Lo Festival and the Royal Night Festival - more community festive activities will be organised. Thua Thien-Hue Province plans to hold the 2nd "Lang Co - a sea legend Festival” featuring both modern and traditional sports and games from June 8-10.

Central Thua Thien-Hue province's tourism sector has spent more than VND 30 billion to upgrade and build facilities for the Hue Festival 2006.

New tourist sites are nearing completion and more tours are expected to open including tours to the Bach Ma-Lang Co-Chan May eco-tourism site and visits to craft villages, Bao Vinh Ancient Street, and mountainous villages.
