Mien Tay Travel to launch 4th luxury boat next month
The Ho Chi Minh City-based Mien Tay Travel Company will launch its fourth wooden boat next month to cater to both local and foreign tourists on their tours around the Mekong Delta region.
The company’s owner Nguyen Minh Tan told the Daily yesterday that the company had spent VND 1.5 billion building the luxury boat in response to the increasing demand of tourists for traveling along the rivers and canals that crisscross the region.
The air-conditioned boat under construction in Long An province at the moment was designed to accommodate some 20 guests in a time. Facilities aboard include 10 private cabins with bathrooms as well as a restaurant and bar.
Tan said the new boat would serve food specialties of the Mekong Delta region rather than Western food to guests though most of them were foreigners.
The new boat together with the luxury boat Mien Tay Travel built in mid-2006 serve those guests who like to relax and stay long aboard, while the two smaller boats are for seekers of the tours that also comprise trekking and cycling to local tourist sites.
Mien Tay Travel currently offers package tours of two or three days to the Mekong Delta.
