If you are looking for something off the beaten track Hien will surely suggest Ha Giang. It's her favorite secret spot that she cannot stop talking about when she meets with friends and new visitors from overseas. Grandiose mountains, zigzagging roads, amazing limestone cliffs; all those words you can hear from Hien's experience. She loves being with the ethnic children along her travels; their shyness mixed with youthful curiosity brings happy giggles to our day.

"Hoian is a charming ancient town which is not too far from the international airport of Danang, and it's so close to Hue. She likes Hoian because of the peacefulness in its ancient style. The sites are well maintained and the local people are so friendly. “I usually end up meeting a new friend and staying an extra day to have a family dinner in their countryside home.”

Life in the Mekong river is an interesting part of my visit to the South Vietnam, I can't stop moving from village to village via boat, bicycle, or simple bridges. The true value of this trip is made from meeting the local people, talking to them, trying their seasonal fruits, and boating along the rivers greeting each other with friendly waves.

Tip for Ha Giang: Bring your sense of adventure, a back up camera battery for shooting, a silk sleeping bag for overnights at homestays, small gifts for the homestay owner's children like pencils or note books, and pictures of your family to show to everyone you meet - including me!

Tip for Hoian: Tailor-made clothes are good here with good silk and good prices. If you wish to make it ready before your departure, go to the tailors as soon as you arrive to Hoian.

Tip for Mekong Delta: Do not miss the many floating markets. There are many and each has its own special splendour And you must go cycling and visit a Mekong delta homestay."
