Vietnam travel to Launch Promotion Program in Europe

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) plans to hold a Vietnam travel promotion program in Germany, Belgium and France later this month.

All international travel companies and hotels with three-star standard and higher can join the campaign, the VNAT said.
The VNAT will introduce the Vietnam travel in Germany through the Vietnam Culture Week scheduled to open in Berlin on August 28-31. The event will include exhibitions, a tourism road show and meetings between Vietnamese and German businesses.
"These tourism promotion would focus on promoting activities of 1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi" Mr Vu The Binh said.
Meanwhile, the administration will organize a road show on in Brussels, Belgium, on September 4, then travel to France from September 8 to 12.
Vietnam welcomed 2.9 million foreign tourist travel Vietnam in the first seven months of 2010, up 35% from a year earlier, said the VNAT.
The Southeast Asia country aims to receive between 4.5 million and 4.6 million foreign travelers and earn tourism revenues of between US$4 billion and US$4.5 billion this year.
Futher three main groups of travellers from Europe can be named. The first and perhaps biggest is that of the baby boomers trying to rejuvenate by visiting the country of their youthful sympathies. The second includes special interest travellers who look for specific products Vietnam tours (scuba diving, biking, trekking). Backpackers in search of pristine environments and peaceful surroundings (Sapa, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang) are the third. “However, all of those groups are really small in numbers,” said Mr Aramberri.
To raise efficiency of attracting tourists from Europe, Vietnam travel companies should raise its professionalism in its activities and organisation and have a long-term consultancy and marketing, said Jozef W.M Van Doorn, co-director of the Vietnam human resources development in tourism project.
According to "vietnamtravelgroup" news, Europe, particularly Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain, is viewed as a potential market of the Vietnamese tourism. The number of tourists travel to Vietnam from these markets is rising but the image of Vietnam travel should be much further promoted. So this is the great news for Vietnam tourism industry to promote more and more visitors travel to Vietnam.
