Effective promotion activities have contributed to recent success in the Vietnam tourism industry, said Head of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Van Tuan.

In the first months of the year, the Administration worked with relevant agencies of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to host the National Tourism Year South Central Coast – Phú Yên 2011.

The International Travel Expo, the largest travel event in Vietnam will take place on September 14-17 in Ho Chi Minh City to illustrate and deepen the linkages among countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region.

The Department has coordinated with localities and enterprises to join international tourism events including the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2011 TRAVEX in Cambodia; the International Tourism Bourse (ITB), one of the world’s largest travel trade shows in Germany.

Tourism promotion activities have also been organized in India, China, Denmark, Norway, Russia, and Ukraine.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan announced that in September the Department and Vietnamese tourism agents will participate in the Tourism forum and travel showcase hosted by the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) in Japan.
