Reality show aims to boost Vietnam travel

Hanoi — A reality TV show entitled Impressive Vietnam is airing every Sunday at 11am on VTV3, with six to 10 participants taking part in a journey with rocker Tran Lap for each 45-minute episode.

In a segment called Discovery, participants will find out about the history and cultural values of their destination.The Competition part of each episode brings them an opportunity to compete against each other in games suited to each locality, with the Looking for a Souvenir calling for participants to find a speciality souvenir for each locality.

The programme also includes a segment called Itinerary Diary with the aim to provide young tourists with knowledge on how to organise their own trips, and the show is sponsoring a photo contest called Vietnam Moments.

The show is expected to broadcast through 2015.Tourism authorities said they hope that the show is not only entertaining but also effectively promotes Vietnam tour.

"The show introduces the best and most remarkable destinations for the Vietnam travel industry to target the national market," said Vietnam National Administration of Tourism general director Nguyen Van Tuan.
