The central province of Hue will host the National Tourism Year 2012 and Hue Festival 2012, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the provincial People’s Committee announced at a press briefing held in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday.

With a series of activities year-round, the events aim to attract domestic and foreign visitors through popularizing the country’s cultural, natural heritages and special festivals, especially in the northern central region, thus promoting position and images of the Vietnamese country and its people to the world.

Nguyen Van Cao, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that the National Tourism Year offers a chance for localities nationwide to promote linkages to build tourism products of national and international trademarks and draw investment in tourism.
