The program was launched just a few days before Phu Bai Airport in the province closes for maintenance.
According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the demand stimulus program “Golden Tourism Week” will be divided into three phases, with the first phase from April 21-27, the second from September 2-8 and the third from December 24-30. Under the program, discounted sightseeing tours and services will be offered at Hue relic sites.
As such, visitors to Hue will be able to use streetcars free of charge to visit the museum from Dai Noi (Hue Imperial Inner City) or enjoy nha nhac (Hue royal music) at Duyet Thi Duong Theater with ticket prices halved.
Tourists buying tickets to visit Dai Noi, Hue Royal ancient items museum and tombs of King Khai Dinh and Minh Mang will be subject to free sightseeing at the remaining sites.
Hue will also offer a 20% discount for tourists buying tickets to join the Royal Night party in the last phase.
As Phu Bai Airport will stop operations in the next eight days, local tourism companies have already completed transferring their tours to Danang Airport. Vietnam Airlines has announced to increase flights from Hanoi and HCMC to Danang from March 20 to November 20 when Phu Bai Airport has its runways repaired.
Danang City plans to open two more tourist information desks at the international and domestic terminals to provide information on tourism and traffic to visitors, especially those having flights transferred from Phu Bai Airport.
