2010-08-30 (GMT + 7)

The Thang Long-Hanoi International Tourism Festival will take place at Bao Son Paradise Theme Park in the Vietnam capital city from October 2-5 to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The festival, the most important event of the 2010 National Tourism Year hosted by Hanoi municipal People’s Committee, is expected to draw around 30,000 visitors per day, according to the organizing board.
There will be about 376 pavilions displaying Vietnam travel and other countries’ tourist products and a wide range of cultural and culinary activities during the festival, the board added.
A seminar on promoting the value of cultural heritages and traditional craft villages to develop tourism will also be put on to strengthen ties with domestic and international partners.
Hanoi welcomed more than 550,000 international visitors in the first seven months of this year, up 12% from a year earlier. The city aims to greet 1.5 million foreign tourists this year.
At present, the number of foreign tourists to Hanoi accounts for 33% total of tourists travel to Vietnam.
