Deputy PM urges people to vote for Halong Bay

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh urged Vietnamese, overseas Vietnamese and international friends to vote for Halong Bay as one of the seven natural wonders of the world on live TV Saturday night.

vote-halongThe live TV program was hosted in Halong, Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh Cities to encourage voting for Halong Bay.

The event attracted attendance by representatives from several foreign organizations together with thousands of residents, students, domestic and foreign visitors.

Ambassadors in Hanoi stated their impressions of Halong Bay and on Vietnam and its people. They appealed to people to vote for Halong Bay and joined several popular artists to sing Vietnamese songs at the program.

So far over 4,225,000 text messages have been sent to number 147 to vote for Halong Bay.

Voting for the seven natural wonders of the world will close by 7:11pm on November 11 in Vietnam.

On the same day, Ho Chi Minh City also hosted a photo exhibition on Halong Bay at the Youth Cultural House.

Nearly 100 well-known people including artists and singers together with 1,000 youth and students from colleges and universities present at the Youth Cultural House, voted for Halong Bay on Saturday.
