RoK promotes MICE tourism in Vietnam

    2011-10-07 (GMT + 7)

The Republic of Korea (RoK) will hold a seminar on MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition) tourism in Hanoi on October 7 with the participation of around 180 Vietnamese and Korean delegates.

Vietnam is the second destination, after Shanghai, China, that the RoK has introduced such kind of tourism which is developing with high economic efficiency in the country.

According to the Korean National Tourism Administration (KNTA), Vietnam has a high economic growth rate and political stability by comparison with other countries in Southeast Asia. People are open to receive international culture. Over the past five years, the number of Vietnamese tourists to the RoK has doubled and Vietnam travel will become one of the RoK’s key tourism markets in the near future. Therefore, a representative office of the KNTA has been set up with singer My Linh acting as Korean tourism ambassador to Vietnam.

The RoK is cooperating with Vietnam to vote for Jeju Island and Halong Bay to become two of seven new natural wonders of the world. If it comes true they will further their images to international friends and bring in sustainable revenues from tourism services.

A wide range of activities, including a tourism exhibition on Korean travels in Seoul, Daejeon and Jeju, will take place during the seminar.
