The resumption of the air route with the first flight scheduled for June 16, is part of Vietnam Airlines' plan to expand its flight network from Hanoi to destination in the Southeast Asia region.
The chief of Vietnam Airlines office in Malaysia, Mai Quoc Tuan said the rising demand of travellers between Hanoi - Kuala Lumpur prompted the airline to resume service on the route, with seven flights a week.
The route will use Airbus A321 aircraft capable of carrying 168 passengers.
On the occasion, Vietnam Airlines offers a special discounted price of VND2.5 million (USD120) for a return ticket. With a view to attracting passengers, the airline will cooperate with Malaysian and Vietnam travel agencies to design tours to famous tourist destinations in northern Vietnam such as Halong Bay, Sapa and Ninh Binh, which will help promote the country's image to Malaysian tourists.
