The practical event, organised by the International Cooperation Department, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to promote Vietnamese culture to Koreans, culture and tourism exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Accordingly, there are various activities such as Vietnam Tourism Promotion Conference to introduce potentials of Vietnam tour, a launch of Vietnam tourism in RoK, a campaign to call for voting for Halong Bay and Jeju Island as the New Wonders of the World, a photo exhibition on Vietnamese culture as well as an exhibition to showcase Vietnamese customs, photos, cuisine, nation and people and so on.

Besides, artists from the Central Light Music and Dance Theatre will give performances to introduce and promote Vietnamese traditional music to Koreans.  

Previously, Vietnam–Rok Culture and Tourism Week was successfully held in Vietnam and the RoK in 2007 and 2009 with various activities.
