More than 50 nations and representatives of 63 cities and provinces of the country will join the festival.
The organization board expects the food show to attract over 800,000 local and foreign visitors.
The festival will introduce to gastronomes, traditional dishes and beverages, special culinary cultures from countries around the world, and provide a chance for insiders to exchange ideas and learn about cuisine features with each other. The highlight of the festival would be a massive feast stretching three
kilometers along the city’s Thuy Van Beach, also known as the Back
Beach, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The event is also an opportunity to promote the potential for tourism within the province.
Vietnamese food, folk games, a fashion show featuring traditional costumes, a parade, circus performance on street and more will take place during the festival.
Among them, the ritual of firing of cannons and a fireworks display will greet visitors of the food festival.
It is expected to enter the Guinness World Records for the largest venue for a food festival.
The World Food Festival’s opening ceremony is expected to be held at the Imperial Plaza in downtown Vung Tau.
The event, part of a series of cultural events to celebrate Hanoi’s 1000th anniversary this year which will hope to attract more visitors travel to Vietnam is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is set to become an annual event in the city, which is situated 125 kilometers southeast of Ho Chi Minh City.
