Mui Ne to host International Boat Racing Festival

Binh Thuan schemes for careers to serve tourism sector.
An International Boat Racing Festival is scheduled to take place in Phan Thiet City’s Mui Ne from October 1-4. The festival will be attended by 20 athlete groups, representatives of 20 countries.

Apart from performances of boat arts, the festival also features other activities associated with boats such as showing techniques and skills of assembling boats, exhibition on boats and international seminars on managing, producing, marketing and trading boats in Asian markets.
To build up an entertainment channel for boats at international standard as well as to promote the stunning images of Mui Ne Beach and local landscapes, the festival also includes artistic performances such as music and dance shows, photo exhibitions, an installation exhibition called The Path to Paradise, a beauty pageant called The Queen of the Sea via online voting and a farewell festival to Mui Ne-Phan Thiet.
* The People’s Committee of Binh Thuan Province has approved a project to develop careers in local rural areas from now until 2020 with a budget of VND5.2 billion.
The project aims to use natural resources reasonably, generate jobs, protect the environment and, especially, revive traditional craft villages.
Moreover, the authority of Binh Thuan Province also aims to diversify products to develop both the local tourism sector and local economy.
This project determines the development orientation of fish sauce, mineral water and construction material production and knitting, pottery and weaving. In addition, a plan to preserve and develop craft villages from now until 2020 focuses on six priority projects including producing fish sauce in Phan Thiet City, La Gi District and Tuy Phong Commune, and woodworking, mechanics and knitting at Kiet Stream. The project will use part of its budget for marketing, training, scientific research and technological improvements to serve the development of craft villages. Hoping that, this event will attract more and more tourists to Mui Ne and Vietnam.
