The city’s tourism has launched tours offering travelers such activities as diving to watch coral reef, fishing with fisherman, sightseeing Son Tra Peninsula, discovering the jungle in the young city, and viewing the Ba Na Hills.
Nguyen Duy Quang, deputy director of Danang Tourism Promotion Center, told the Daily on Monday that the city was spending around VND1 billion organizing this annual event. The organizer is cooperating with tourism authorities of Quang Nam and Thua Thien-Hue to make promotional trips in Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Can Tho.
“The last event has contributed more to the city’s tourism as the number of tourists increased around 30%. We expect this year’s event will bring the similar effect to Danang because many coastline resorts and hotels in the city center are still not yet fully booked,” Quang said.
He added that the city had cooperated with the neighboring provinces of Quang Nam and Thua Thien-Hue in promoting tourism festivals of the three localities between now and September.
Danang City’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has expected to welcome 880,000 local and foreign tourists in the first half of this year, up 38% year-on-year.
Tourism revenue is expected to reach nearly VND572 billion, up 66% year-on-year.
