200 foreign travel agencies to arrive in HCM city in September

2012-04-23 (GMT + 7)

Some 200 foreign travel agencies will come to Ho Chi Minh City in September for an annual international travel exhibition, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The department said last Saturday that the International Travel Expo 2012, themed “Four Countries, One Destination”, would take place from September 13 to 15 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in District 7.
The foreign firms will come from 30 countries and territories, up from the 150 recorded at last year’s expo.
This tourism event will also feature conferences of the four countries and direct interactions between travel firms. In the coming expo, the organizer will focus more on introducing tourism products in combination with overseas study information, cruise travel and golf tournaments.
In addition to the foreign firms coming for the travel expo to learn about what is on offer in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, a new feature of the forthcoming expo is 50 to 100 local firms providing international tourism services will be invited to the expo, said Nguyen Bao Anh at the department.
“Operators of outbound tours will have the opportunity to meet potential partners,” he said.
