As a gesture of thanks to everyone who supported and voted for Halong Bay in the Seven New Natural Wonders of the World poll, Quang Ninh Province authorities waived entry fees for visitors to the bay from January 23 to February 5.

Recognized as one of the world’s ‘Most Beautiful Bays’ almost a decade ago, Nha Trang is famous for its pristine beaches, splendid islands and magnificent mountains.

Around 310,000 foreign tourists visited Ho Chi Minh City in Jan. 2012, the same number as last year, and about 60,000 overseas Vietnamese entered the country through Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City during the same period, according to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Jan. 31.

Entry to all sites at Halong Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh will be free of charge during the lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, from Jan. 23 to Feb. 5, the provincial People’s Committee said on Jan. 20.

The ancient city of Hoi An will host traditional festival and cultural activities from January 17-Febuary 6 for the Lunar New Year festival (Tet).
