International travel forum pledges to support Halong Bay’s recommendation

Halong Bay’s recommendation, the East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum (EATOF) 2007 which has taken place in Chiang Mai, Thai Land, pledged to vigorously support Halong Bay’s nomination as one the seven natural wonders of the world.
This is a part of the joint declaration announced by the EATOF 2007.
This year’s Vietnamese delegation, led by Mr. Trinh Van Hong, Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh Tourism Department, completed the business trip successfully. This is the second time that Quang Ninh province has joined the forum as an official member.
The forum attracted the participation of representatives from China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Mongolia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
To further promote tourism cooperation among member countries, under the action plan of the EATOF 2007, participants agreed to intensify the exchange of students and staff, assistance projects for private enterprises, and the launch of direct flight and cruise ship routes among EATOF member countries.
This is the seventh time the EATOF has been held in Thailand.
