According to the annual “Asia Travel Intentions Survey 2007”, jointly conducted by Visa International Asia Pacific (Visa) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), 31 percent of the survey's respondents said they would visit Vietnam within the next two years, a 7 percent increase from last year’s survey.

The annual study, which interviews more than 5,000 people from 10 major global tourism markets estimates consumer travel intentions pointed to Vietnam's reasonably priced goods and services as key reason for touring the country, with 49 percent of respondents saying it was a motivating factor for their future travel plans.

Meanwhile, 44 percent choose the country for its natural surroundings, 41 percent for its culture, 38 percent for adventure tourism and 35 percent found the country to be highly hospitable.

Visa, a global credit card leader is a member of The Olympic Partnership (TOP) Programme and has been chosen to be the exclusive official payment card brand and payment service provider by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

PATA is the non-profit travel trade association providing services to government, state and city tourism agencies, airlines and cruise lines, and travel industry companies.
