Ho Chi Minh City’s travel firms launch tours to Thailand for football fans

Ho Chi Minh City’s travel firms have launched tours to Thailand to watch the Iraq-Vietnam match after the Vietnamese football team reached the Asian Cup quarter-finals

Cao Ngoc Minh, Public Relations Executive of Ben Thanh Tourist, said the company had launched a three-day and two-night package tour to Thailand which costs US$274 per tourist.

The tour starting on Friday will take visitors to some attractions in Bangkok on the first day before letting them watch the Iraq-Vietnam match on Saturday.

Saigontourist Travel Service Co. has cooperated with Vietnam Airlines and Thai Airways to arrange two tours to Thailand on the occasion.

The one-day tour costing US$355 per person is for fans coming to Thailand just for the match. The three-day tour costing US$405 per person is for those who want to combine travel and football watching. The price includes around US$7-27 per a ticket to the match.

The company reported that over 200 fans had booked the tours.

Vietravel also launched three tours for fans wishing to watch the football match in Thailand. The two-day tour costs US$409 per person, the three-day tour US$425, and the five-day tour US$335.

Some other tour operators in the city said they would arrange similar tours upon request.
