Third American air carrier sets foot in Vietnam

US Delta Air Lines, which officially set foot in Vietnam yesterday, will soon offer flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to more than 100 destinations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.

The new services are to be provided by EastSea Travel and Air Service, representatives of Delta Air Lines in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi Vietnam, through an associate contract with Korean Air, Air France-KLM and China Airlines.

After the entry of the United Airlines and American Airlines, Delta Air Lines is the third American carrier in Vietnam.

Delta, with more than 100 million passengers a year and a fleet of 440 planes, operates flights to 481 destinations in 105 countries.

It is planning to provide new services from Atlanta to China’s Shanghai next March.
