The festival aims at inspiring the traditional cultural values which are now in danger of being ignored while raising awareness for Muong ethnic people themselves in preserving cultural values of their own.

This is also a chance for popularising the innovation and development of Muong ethnic people, and introducing their socio-economic achievements and tourism of Muong people inhabited areas.

The festival will take places in four days with a wide range of activities such as art performances, beauty contest for Muong young women, exhibition-cum-fair displaying Muong’s achievements through different period of time, seminar on preservation of Muong culture, folk games and food culture.

The opening ceremony of the festival will be broadcast live on the Vietnam Television and Radio the Voice of Vietnam from 8pm on December 15 from the Hoa Binh Stadium.

The Muong Ethnic Minority Culture Festival is jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hoa Binh People’s Committee.
