Discovering a Vietnam restaurant of seven wonders
01/04/07 (GMT+7)
Vietnam restaurant of seven wonders, the Seven Ancient Wonders of the world are the most beautiful architectural structures in the world, admired by most people. These wonders are praised not just for the beauty of the architecture but also for the legendary stories that each wonder contains, such as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon or the Temple of Artemis, which people only know about through history books.

Some people have tried to reproduce the seven wonders on a smaller scale and display them in one place to satisfy those who are unable to travel to the countries where the actual wonders are located.
In Vietnam, the wonders of the world have inspired many artists and architects.
Recently, a restaurant called Seven Wonders World has been built in the centre of District 6 in Ho Chi Minh City, earning its name from the manifestation of the famous wonders in its architecture.
Located in an area of 4,000 hectares behind Metro Binh Phu, the restaurant was the unique idea of Trinh Tu Long, a Chinese American who is general director of the restaurant, of having guests relaxing within replicass of the wonders, not just seeing them from far away.
Seven Wonders World Restaurant was rebuilt from an old bar. Construction began on February 21, 2006 and it took almost nine months to finish the restaurant, which is modeled on the six wonders of the world, the Temple of Artemis, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Great Wall, Angkor Wat and the Taj Mahal, and along with world heritage site Ha Long Bay.
Long told The Daily that when he had the idea of building such a restaurant, he traveled to see the still existing wonders in order to have a mental picture of them.
Then, he shared the idea with the architects, which perplexed some because of the difficulties of building such huge constructions in one place. It was because of these challenges that for nine months they had to design and build the constructions simultaneously.
“Thankfully, the architects understood my idea and it is all finished,” Long said.
The restaurant complex has a capacity of 1,200 people, with both indoor and outdoor coffee bar sections with 800 seats, restaurant with 400 seats, three conference rooms in the Taj Mahal section, and a playground and a toy-house for children with modern baby toys. Children of guests will be well looked after by the employees of the restaurant.
Among the specialties of the restaurant, which serves Chinese food, are Beijing roasted duck and steaming soup with Chinese herbs. The head chef of the restaurant was taught his cooking skills in Hong Kong. He was the first head chef of Yeebo, the first Hong Kong restaurant in Saigon, in 1990.
The restaurant is ideal for parties, meetings and wedding banquets, offering live music, laser performances, game shows at night and internet wireless in the coffee shop. Located at the centre of District 6 in China Town, the restaurant hopes to attract a large amount of guests.
