Huge tourism complex opens in Binh Duong

10/09/08 (GMT+7)

The opening ceremony for Dai Nam Tourist World will take place on Thursday. This is only the phase 1 of the complex, which has been under construction for the past 10 years, said Huynh Uy Dung, chief executive of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company.

Dai Nam Temple

The resort, Vietnam’s biggest tourist complex, is located in the southern province of Binh Duong and covers an area of more than 450 hectares. It costs VND3 trillion (US$185 million) to construct.

Phase 1 covers 261 hectares, including Dai Nam temple, and honors the history and culture of the country.

It includes the longest artificial mountain range in Viet Nam, large lakes and an open zoo that is home to over 600 animals of over 70 species, including rhinoceros, white lions, tigers, elephants, bears, ostriches, chamois (similar to a goat) and other animals. This zoo is already in operation.

Boats will transport guests between the entertainment complex and Bach Dang Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City. The group will also operate two bus routes between HCMC and Dai Nam.

One bus route will depart from Cho Lon Bus Station in District 5 and the other will depart from Ben Thanh Market in District 1.
