Canadian flavours to be served in Hanoi

Tender Canadian beef as well as a variety of delicious Canadian seafood and robust wines, and also Canada’s famous “ice wine” will be served at the Festival of Canadian Flavours which will be held at the Sofitel Plaza Hanoi Hotel from November 7-14.
 This culinary, which is in the framework of the celebration of the diplomatic relations between Canada and Vietnam, is to offer a taste of Canada to Hanoi Vietnam.
The festival has the participation of Canadian chef Derek Furlani who is coming to Vietnam from his speciality restaurant in Hong Kong as the guest chef for this Festival.”
During this event, food and wine lovers will be able to enjoy the rich flavours and textures that make up the dynamic Canadian culinary landscape. Epicures will be able to revel in award winning Ice Wine from Canada, considered the finest iconic dessert wine of the world.
“The fresh air, clean waters and fertile soil of Canada make for delicious, healthy ingredients and wine that we hope will become part of modern Vietnamese fine dining culture and lifestyle” said newly-arrived Ambassador Deanna Horton.
The Brasserie Restaurant of the Sofitel Plaza, the hotel's busiest eatery, will carry the exciting Canadian menu from November 7-14.
The event is jointly organised by the Embassy of Canada and the Sofitel Plaza Hanoi Hotel.
Canada is one of the foremost maritime nations on the planet, boasting the world's longest coastline (244,000 km). It is host to one of the world's most valuable commercial fishing industries, worth more than $5 billion a year. Canada exports 80% of its fish and seafood production. Lobster, crab, Atlantic salmon, scallop, oyster, geoduck are major products for export.
Canadian wines have complex flavours, delicate and persistent aromas, tightly focussed structure and have longer aging potential because their fine grape varieties are grown under cooler growing conditions.
Canadian beef is globally considered of premium quality thanks to natural feed and land base advantages for beef cattle production.
