Vietnam Airlines increases domestic fares

Vietnam Airlines increases domestic fares, Vietnam Airlines says it will increase its domestic fares from March 1, the day that Pacific Airlines, also of Vietnam, will raise its fares.

Vietam airlinesVietnam Airlines spokesman Trinh Ngoc Thanh says the new prices would help the national flag carrier diversify its local fares, counterbalance high input costs over the past four years and operate more flights in the country.

The Ministry of Transport had earlier approved the two carriers’ proposals of fare rises.

Vietnam Airlines’ new one-way fares include VND1.7 million for Ha Noi-Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City-Hai Phong routes; VND1.65 million for the Ha Noi-Buon Ma Thuot, Da Lat and Nha Trang routes; and VND1.5 million on Ho Chi Minh City-Vinh.

The one-way fares for the routes of Ha Noi-Da Nang, Ha Noi-Hue, Ho Chi Minh City-Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City-Chu Lai are VND1.1 million; and those to fly between Ho Chi Minh City and Rach Gia, and Buon Ma Thuot are VND600,000.

Other domestic flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang are all priced at VND800,000 for a one-way ticket.
