Cua Lo Aquatic Fest heats up, the old and the new collide during this year's Cua Lo Aquatic Festivities beginning on April 30 in the central province of Nghe An.
Visitors will flocks to historic Van Loc Temple and the beaches and ocean bordering Cua Lo, while sporting events like boat racing and folk games will be held on Xuan Huong Beach.
Gliding along the Lam River adds a little novelty to the range of activities. These also include musical performances, fireworks displays, rituals, and local speciality, offering glimpses into the land and its people.
New Vietnam tours have sprung up alongside this year's festival, giving visitors a chance to explore history and a broader swathe of land by way of trips to the homes of President Ho Chi Minh and renowned poet Nguyen Du.
"The festival will tighten the State policy on tourism management so that the coastal town can be developed into an attractive destination for tourists with a fresh, clean, prosperous, civilised and sustainable environment," said Le Minh Thong, chairman of Cua Lo's People Committee.
Multi-province eco-tours, cultural tours and inter-regional tours to Laos are also new additions.
Organisers expect this year's festival will play an important role in drawing more tourists to the province.
