Halong Bay Vietnam to greet thousands of foreigners over Vietnam Tet, thousands of foreign tourists are expected to visit Halong Bay in Quang Ninh Province by cruiser liners during the first few days of the Lunar New Year 2008, said the provincial tourism department.

A number of well-known international cruise companies such as Star Cruise and Coasta Cruise will take the foreign tourists to the bay. In particular, the Costa Allegra under the Coasta Cruise will ship more than 500 tourists on the first day and the Star Libra under the Star Cruise will also bring hundreds tourists on the second day.

Moreover, thousands tourists from China and Hong Kong will also travel to the bay by cruise ships by the Hei Hai– Ha Long route.

Most of the ships will let tourists stay in Halong Bay for two days instead of the usual one day to celebrate Vietnam’s traditional Tet festival.

Quang Ninh Province and its functional agencies have made plans to serve and warmly welcome the first tourists stepping ashore in Halong Bay during the Lunar New Year.
