Traveling from the South to North on a floating hotel
01/04/08 (GMT+7)
Vietnam Traveling, in partnership with Lotus cruise ships, Ben Thanh Tourist has launched a new six-day and five-night tour to attractions from Ho Chi Minh City to the north of the county. It is the first tour offered by Ben Thanh Tourist that combines sea, land and air travel.
Leaving from Nha Rong Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City, the first destination is the coastal city of Nha Trang, with a two hour stop for sightseeing or shopping.
From there the tour goes to Hon Gai Wharf, Halong City for a one day and one night visit of the world heritage Halong Bay Vietnam. With some 1,969 islets sprinkled over 1,553 square kilometers, the bay is rightly acknowledged as one of Asia's and the world's greatest natural wonders.
Small boats are available for morning tours to some of the stunning sites including Thien Cung (celestial palace) some 25 meters above sea level and considered to be a veritable museum of beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, and Sung Sot (surprise) grotto, arguably the most beautiful in all of Halong Vietnam.
A visit to Tuan Chau Resort some eight kilometers from Halong City is scheduled in the after napn, to relax whilst enjoying some sea sports or visit the famous sea animals circus. The group disembarks at Hon Gai Wharf and continues overland to the border province of Lang Son Vietnam.
The most famous attraction of the province is Tam Thanh Cave, To Thi Mountain. The statue on the mountain top resembles a woman holding her baby and looking off in the distance. For that reason the statue is known in Vietnam as Hon Vong Phu (waiting for husband statue).
The final destination is the capital city of Hanoi with its many attractions such as Hoan Kiem (restored sword) Lake, Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature), West Lake and others. From the city, the group will return to Ho Chi Minh City by plane.
The Lotus can carry up to 500 passengers and offers many three-star standard services such as entertainment, restaurant, coffee bar and shops which will remain open all day for those choosing not to leave the cruise ship at ports of call.
