Ho Chi Minh City set for tourism festival

Ho Chi Minh tourism authority has been preparing for the city’s Tourism Festival 2008, to run from April 18-20, aiming to promote the city’s image as a destination.

The festival will be held at Dam Sen Park in district 11. Themed Southern Land Meeting, the event will focus on upcoming summer tours with travel agencies showcasing their travel packages and deals.
In addition to the exhibition, the festival will have several cultural activities including the Southern Folk Musical Show, and a photo contest titled Ho Chi Minh City – the Hidden Charm.

The Southern Cuisine Fair will introduce visitors to refined, tasty dishes prepared by high-end hotels and restaurants.

The Vietravel company, meanwhile, will offer a 300,000 VND (18.75 USD) discount on its Central Region’s Heritage Road tour. The company will offer a discount of 3-5 percent on domestic tours and 5-50 USD off international tours.
