Local Projects

Footprint strives to be a major player in environmental protection, sustainability and community-based tourism development in Vietnam. We believe that our experience and knowledge is a invaluable asset to those NGO's (both national and international) that seek to preserve the environment and reduce poverty with tourism. Thus, we are quick to jump on board and share the responsibliity and become an example for others to follow. Below is a list of projects that Footprint has been involved in.

CURRENT PROJECTS:

1. For a Green Halong Bay.
This is a project in join-venture with Indochina Junk company - a brother company of Footprint in Halong Bay. Our objective is to support the floating villages with jobs in tourism and also support them in making their village clean and beautiful.

2. Community Based Ecotourism in Ngoc Son - Ngo Luong Nature Reserve
This project is funded by Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) and Foundation for Social Promotion of Culture Spain (FPSC). Footprint's role is to make the proposal for community based ecotourism in Ngoc Son Ngo Luong and to partly implement the project like training the locals on homestay, guiding, etc...

3. Responsible Travel Club
Footprint believed that we could not make it successful by doing just within us, our own capacity, so from 2008, Footprint has called the attention of other tour operators in the North of Vietnam to form the club for responsible travel, by doing so, we all can have much bigger and more positive impacts on environment, culture and the local communities' economy. Please visit our website for more information (www.rtcvietnam.org) this is being built and should be ready soon.

4. Community Based Tourism in Quan Ba - Ha Giang (phase 2)
Footprint is so proud to be again chosen as the local tour operator supporting the second phase of the CBT in Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province. More information about this is being updated, please come back later.
